Two domestic staff of Mrs. Oyindamola Odegbami, wife of Chief Segun Odegbami, a Nigerian football legend, were yesterday arraigned before an Ikeja magistrate court and charged with stealing N150 million worth of jewelry.

Rose Patrick, her 25-year-old housekeeper, and 26-year-old driver, Mohammed Abdulazeez allegedly conspired with Ester Pam, 28, another domestic staff at a nearby house to steal N150 million worth of jewelry on Dec. 10, 2016 at the complainant’s residence in Ikoyi, Lagos. The trio are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing before Magistrate Y. O. Aje-Afunwa. However, they all denied the charges.

Mrs. Odegbami on Dec. 10, 2016, discovered that sets of jewelry as well as some personal effects were missing from her bedroom. After noticing that the items were missing, she suspected that Rose, her housekeeper, who was yet to return from a holiday that ought to have ended over two weeks ago, may be responsible for the theft.
